Escambia Co. Fire Ladder 12 Grab Oct ’23 *VIDEO*

🚨 At 6:43 p.m. on Saturday, Escambia County Fire Rescue units E17, L12, E11, E16, E1, S4, and BC2 responded to a residential structure fire at the 700 block of Calais Lane.

🔥 Upon arrival, moderate smoke showed from a single-story wood-frame structure with one occupant standing in the driveway. Initially, ECFR was told that no one else was believed to be inside the structure. Upon entry into the home, ECFR’s Ladder 12 crew spotted another occupant. In less than 60 seconds, the patient was removed from the home and transferred to Escambia County EMS. Both occupants were transported to area hospitals by EMS. ECFR also found two dogs during the fire attack. Unfortunately, one dog passed away due to the fire. The situation was brought under control by 6:58 p.m.

🔎 The fire was contained in the kitchen and hallway and will require significant repairs before reentering the home. The Bureau of Fire and Arson is investigating the cause of the fire.

⛑️ The American Red Cross has assisted those displaced by the fire.
