Oakville firefighters are working to free the driver of a Ready Mix cement mixer who became trapped after the vehicle he was in rolled over in the area of Sixth Line and Dundas Street today (Monday).
Oakville Fire Chief Lee Grant said at around 12:07 p.m. the truck slid into a basement excavation site and rolled over in a construction area located north of Dundas Street in the Sixth Line area.
Fire crews are working to free the driver from the partially crushed vehicle cab.
At this time there is no information about the condition of the driver.
Halton police said an air ambulance was dispatched to the scene.

Update:
A man pinned by a cement truck for more than 2 hours in Oakville has finally been freed.
Halton Police say the vehicle rolled just after noon, in the Dundas and 6th Line area.
Officers couldn’t comment on the condition of the man, but say he’s been flown to hospital in an Air Ambulance.
There are reports the man’s leg was pinned under the truck.
It’s unclear if the man was the driver of the truck or a construction worker, who was standing close to the vehicle.

Curt teaches nationally to include; FDIC, Firehouse Expo, Firehouse World, Orlando Fire Conference, Atlanta Fire Conference, Bowling Green State University, and owns/operates the annual HROC, COBC, WOTF, CFT ODP on Pensacola Beach. He is a Florida Certified Fire Officer, Instructor, Inspector, Arson, and FLUSAR.
