BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Bakersfield firefighters rescued a man trapped on the Panorama Bluffs in Northeast Bakersfield Wednesday morning.

Bakersfield Fire officials say the man, whose identity isn’t known, appeared to be stuck and suffering from back pain.

Fire crews used a backboard and pulley system to pull the man up the bluffs.

Northbound lanes of Alfred Harrell Highway were closed at Panorama Drive, but have since been reopened.
