Firefighters rushed to the 700 block of South Tejon about 9:36 p.m. Thursday where they found a home on fire.
“Upon arrival firefighters observed heavy smoke coming from the front of the house and also from the east side of the structure. They made entry through the front door and also through the rear. When they made entry through the front door they did find one person inside,” said Denver Fire Department spokesman Mark Watson.
Firefighters brought the woman outside and started to perform CPR. She was rushed to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
What caused the fire is being investigated.
No other structures were damaged.
