TULSA, Oklahoma –

Tulsa firefighters used an inflatable water craft to rescue a man in the Arkansas River near 31st Street.

Someone called into emergency dispatch to report that the man was having difficulty Sunday just after 3 p.m.

The firefighters sent to help had to get out and drag the raft across rocks at times.

The man told firefighters he was out on the river when some water was apparently released, and he got stuck on a little island. He said he didn’t feel comfortable trying to cross back to shore.

Firefighters completed the rescue at about 3:50 p.m.
