SAN ANTONIO — A man is in the hospital after he had to be rescued from a house fire on the west side.
It happened in the 7000 block of Pipers Way around 4:30 Sunday morning.
According to firefighters the house was fully engulfed when they got on scene. The house had burglar bars and they had to break through a window to rescue the man.
The man suffered burns and smoke inhalation. A dog was also rescued from the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
