Water Rescue in Ottawa, Ontario

City firefighters pulled a man from the Rideau River late Monday night.

Rescue crews were called to the area of Donald St. and North River Rd., at about 11 p.m., after reports that a man had jumped into the river. They arrived moments later and launched north of that location, as updates indicated the man was floating downstream.

A fire rescue boat located the man near the St. Patrick St. bridge and he was successfully rescued, then transferred into the care of city paramedics on shore near the Cummings Bridge.

He was not believed to have been seriously injured.
