COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. — A man was rescued from the roof of a home during a fire Wednesday afternoon, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department.

The fire was reported at about 1 p.m., at a home in the 900-block of Bennett Lane near Circle Drive and Galley Road.

No one was injured. Four people and a dog were able to escape. The house is now considered unlivable.

Fire officials said they believed the man who was rescued from the roof was trying to extinguish the fire himself.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
