GREENSBORO, N.C. − Firefighters rescued a paraplegic woman who was trapped in a bedroom during a house fire Monday evening, according to the Greensboro News & Record.

Firefighters were called to 603 Garrett St. about 8 p.m. The woman suffered from light smoke inhalation and was taken to Moses Cone Hospital, according to Battalion Chief Eric Johannesen.

Johannesen said the woman had called emergency services saying she couldn’t get out. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
