A wheelchair-bound woman was trapped in her Malden home while a two-alarm fire blazed around her on Sunday, Feb. 1.
Firefighters responded to reports of the fire at 531 Pleasant St., in Malden and quickly discovered one fire hydrant on the street was frozen and a pickup truck blocked the other, according to New England Cable News.
Malden firefighters were still able to rescue the woman, however, who was trapped on the third floor.
Officials said the fire started in the living room and burned up to the second and third floors of the residence.
